Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Resident Assistant (RA) is a vital student leadership role within the Office of Residential Life. As a part-time, live-in paraprofessional staff member, the RA is responsible for fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and safe living environment that promotes academic success, personal development, and community engagement.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide professional and courteous customer service to walk ins and those who call the office
• Provide general information to people who contact our office with questions
• Attend all required training and meetings
• Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and daily responsibilities
• Answer phone calls and input messages into the department call log form
• Assist students who have been locked out and log all lock outs in StarRez
• Assist with inputting work orders and/or following up on work orders for students who contact the office
• Assist with referring students to appropriate resources
• Log all walk ins in the Ospreys Navigate Kiosk
• Support special projects and departmental needs assigned
• Use StarRez to look up student information to assist with walk ins and calls
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by professional staff

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a currently enrolled student at Stockton University
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone
• Ability to work independently as well as with others
• Be a reliable and trustworthy individual who is customer service oriented
• Ability to adapt to learning new systems and handling situations in a calm manner
