This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position. The University has implemented a pilot program allowing employees to work either a compressed 4-day work week with extended workdays or may work from home one day a week. Participation is subject to Divisional Executive approval depending on operational need.

Brief Job Overview/Summary
A flexible position while school is in session. Peer Educators present information on various health related topics, values, and activities including drug, alcohol and tobacco use, and sexual health education. Peer Educators are positive role models on campus who promote healthy and safe behaviors, reinforce social norms, and act as approachable resources to all students who are looking for guidance on health and wellness.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Health Educator, a Peer Educator will be responsible for:
1. Assisting Health Educator with Health and Wellness Center workshops and events that will include evening and weekend hours.
2. Developing, promoting and presenting workshops relevant to current health issues within the campus community.
3. Working in collaboration with other Wellness Center staff at events.
5. Working with other students who have already been trained as peer educators or those that desire to become peer educators.
6. Educating students and promoting Wellness Center services and providing referrals where needed.
Required Qualifications
One reference letter required (either from a student leader or from staff / faculty or former employer)
Successful completion of the NASPA Peer Education CPE online course upon hiring
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be an excellent role model.
Excellent communication skills required
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills required
