This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position. The University has implemented a pilot program allowing employees to work either a compressed 4-day work week with extended workdays or may work from home one day a week. Participation is subject to Divisional Executive approval depending on operational need.

Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Office of Student Development is responsible for providing leadership and administrative direction to a comprehensive student club and organization program, which compliments and supports the academic mission of the college and enriches the quality of student life. As the central point of contact and training for more than 150 student organizations and the leaders and members of these organizations, the Office of Student Development is a multifaceted operation dedicated to serving the college community as advocates, advisors, educators, and administrators for students and student groups in order to create and foster leadership and involvement opportunities that will enhance personal, interpersonal, and organizational development.

Hours of Employment: 15-20 hours per week, including office hours and shared coverage for evening & weekend programs
Compensation: $19.50/hour

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Position 1

  • Assist with planning and implementation of major Student Development events, including Get Involved Fair, University Weekend, Film Series, Student Faculty Staff Dinner, and Leadership Lunch Series.
  • Participate in the development, coordination, and facilitation of student organization and advisor training seminars, Greek Leader Training, and student organization recognition efforts.
  • Provide support for fraternity and sorority life, including training, educational programs, chapter compliance, administration, new member processes, roster management, insurance compliance, and marketing efforts.
  • Provide support for The Path Yearbook.
  • Serve as administrator to 25Live and assist with processing space reservations for recognized student organizations, fraternities, and sororities.
  • Share responsibilities for event planning and on-site event management for evening and weekend programs.
  • Assist with completion of required event contracts and purchasing paperwork.
  • Provide consultation to student organization leaders in the event planning process including OspreyHub.
  • Develop and implement assessments for Student Development initiatives.
  • Participate in departmental committees as assigned.
  • Assist with administrative duties and serve as customer service agent for the Office of Student Development.
  • Serve as a college vehicle driver and chaperone to off-campus trips when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position 2
1. Serve as a Graduate Advisor to the Stockton Entertainment Team (SET)
2. Assist with program planning and organization for Stockton Entertainment Team
3. Share responsibilities for event planning and on-site event management for evening and weekend programs
4. Develop & implement assessments for SET and Student Development initiatives
5. Oversee completion of required event contracts and purchasing paperwork required
6. Serve as administer to 25Live and assist with processing space reservations for recognized student organizations, fraternities, and sororities.
7. Assist with planning and implementation of major Student Development events, including Get Involved Fair, University Weekend, Film Series, Student Faculty Staff Dinner, and Day of Leadership

Required Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled as a Stockton University matriculated graduate student during the time of employment
• Bachelor’s degree with prior experience that demonstrates an understanding of leadership and student development
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong sense of professionalism, enthusiasm, flexibility, organization, and self-motivation
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to complete projects
• Prior leadership/student involvement experience strongly preferred
