This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position. The University has implemented a pilot program allowing employees to work either a compressed 4-day work week with extended workdays or may work from home one day a week. Participation is subject to Divisional Executive approval depending on operational need.

Brief Job Overview/Summary

Under the supervision of the Health Education Promotion and Outreach and the Health Educator, the Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the Certified Peer Education, program assessment and evaluation, health promotion event planning, office organization, and general office projects within the The Health Education department under Health Outreach, Promotion and Education located at Student Health Services.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all logistics required for scheduling, prepping, implementing, and promoting events and programs across the Stockton Campuses
  • Manage and monitor the ‘Request a Health Education Program’ emails/forms.
    Collaborate with professors, resident advisors, graduate coordinators, student clubs/organizations and other departments to provide programming for students
  • Co-administer outreach programs in collaboration with the Health Educator. Examples may include programs focused on the Dimensions of Wellness, Stress Management, Sexual Health/Sexually Transmitted Infections, and other requested workshops
  • Work with Stockton Catering to order food and drinks for events and programs
  • Facilitate and attend Peer Health Education Staff Meetings (Tuesday at 4:30pm-5:30pm)
  • Participate in the coordination, and facilitation of the NAPSA CPE Peer Education training
  • Assist in administering Peer Educator Surveys
  • Represent the Health Outreach, Promotion, and Education (HOPE) department at various campus and community programs, events, and meetings
  • Assist with the development of educational materials including updating workshop curriculum and webpages
  • Assist with marketing efforts for the Wellness Center social media pages including but not limited to posting to Osprey Hub, Student Digest, LED/TV requests
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office program and Google Suite
  • Will lead peer educator office hours (1x week)
  • Answer telephone calls and Wellness Center emails for Health Education
  • Assist in managing peer educators and processing peer educator timesheets
  • Assist in the creation of the Annual Health Education Report through data collection and analysis
  • Monitor and assist in the application process for different health education grants
  • Assist in managing and tracking the Health Education budget
  • Assist with the hiring and onboarding of new peer educators
  • Other duties as assigned

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program
