This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position. The University has implemented a pilot program allowing employees to work either a compressed 4-day work week with extended workdays or may work from home one day a week. Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Stockton Center on Successful Aging at Stockton University is seeking to fill a Professional Services Specialist 4 - 75% position to support the reporting duties of our county grants, as well as office duties. This position will report directly to the SCOSA Director, Assistant Director, and/or Senior Operations Specialist, and will assist in the planning, coordinating, delivering, and reporting on a wide range of SCOSA’s research, education, and services initiatives; particularly on SCOSA’s grant-funded older adult education, socialization/recreation, and physical activities programs.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic customer service functions, such as email correspondence, phone calls, walk-in visits, and zoom appointments
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Attendance reporting, data entry, and assistance in monthly and/or quarterly grant reporting
  • Assist SCOSA staff, faculty, and students with time-sheets, purchasing, Chrome River travel reporting, mandatory training, etc.
  • Delivery of programs based on grant requirements (comfort speaking to a group, ability to travel to Cape May Senior Centers, and/or other Stockton sites)
  • Outgoing personality and able to comfortably interact with new people in a pleasant manner
  • Attend weekly staff and finance meetings, quarterly leadership team, and Area Agency on Aging meetings
  • Familiarity with Excel, OneDrive, and Qualtrics
  • Assist with monthly E-Newsletter
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualification

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

  • One-year professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education, higher education, or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority
    • The minimum education experience standards for positions classified under this class title will vary depending upon the requirements of the specific position to be filled. In each case, these minimums will be determined at the discretion of the appointing authority 
    • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis (30 credit hours is considered one year of college)
    • A Master’s degree in a field related to the position to be filled may be substituted for one year of the required experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a university environment preferred
  • Familiarity or Proficiency with Wellsky/SAMS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, internet-based cloud storage, Powerpoint (or Canva)
  • Excellent analytical, technical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Outgoing personality and able to comfortably interact with new people in a pleasant manner
