Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Richard E. Bjork Library at Stockton University is seeking a collaborative Professional Services Specialist 4, Admin NE - Library Systems Support Specialist to be responsible for performing work and maintenance on holdings, the library's electronic portfolio, and request maintenance of the library systems, ALMA, OCLC and ILLiad. This is a critical position that supports the ongoing mission of the Library to provide the Stockton community with the highest levels of service.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform holdings, electronic portfolio, and requested maintenance on the library's systems - Alma, OCLC and ILLiad
  • Assist with Interlibrary Loan workflows. Determine copyright clearance status of requests. Use verification sources to seek citations for requests that failed. Search databases, web, and other library catalogs to locate material requested. Process incoming materials for faculty, students, and staff.
  • Update and roll over annual subscription renewals in Alma. Close orders for titles not renewed.
  • Assist with COUNTER data harvesting in Alma.
  • Assist with staff requests for analytics reports.
  • Receive and process print periodicals. Enter claims for unreceived material.
  • Participate in special, batch update or import projects.
  • Triage library hardware/software problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.

    Five (5) years of professional experience in different aspects of administration and business practices; including design and implementation of policy and procedures, vendor service contracts and improving and updating management practices.

    OR

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
    • One (1) year of professional experience that is analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range of basic knowledge of the profession's concepts and practices; and is performed with the authority to act and make accurate and informed decisions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical services colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the ALMA Library Integrated system.
  • Knowledge of periodical receiving/claiming workflows.
  • Knowledge of COUNTER data.
  • Supervisory experience with students and part-time temporary workers.
  • 2 years of library experience, preferably in Technical Services.
