Brief Job Overview/Summary: 

Stockton University, Division of Student Affairs, seeks an Associate Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program for its Atlantic City Campus (EOF-AC) to support its strategies to promote equitable access, academic achievement, and post-graduate success. The Associate Director is responsible for the daily operations of the EOF-AC Program, including developing goals that align with strategic area goals, division goals, and the University strategic plan; program planning; budgeting; assessment and annual reporting/compliance with Stockton University and the State; supervising the Student Success Coach and support staff at the Atlantic City campus; and coordinating the annual EOF-AC Summer Academy and supervising staff associated with the Academy.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Director of EOF in leading, integrating, and aligning the Educational Opportunity Fund Program (Atlantic City) staff and service operations with New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund Program, division, and University priorities and national best practices
  • Identifies and implements strategies that support academic development, retention, and post-graduate success in collaboration with campus partners to ensure that EOF services and programs meet the needs of diverse student communities who participate in the program (e.g., racially diverse, LGBTQ+, first-generation, non-traditional, military-affiliated, etc.)
  • Recommends, monitors, and implements office operations (i.e., purchasing, executing contracts, completing payroll, supervising/evaluating professional and part-time staff, onboarding/training, annual reporting, assessing outcomes, and ensuring compliance with regulations) while maintaining optimal service delivery to students
  • Supports with supervising the EOF professional staff, undergraduate staff, and faculty in planning and implementing EOF Summer Academy, Academic Year Programs, and Student Success Coaching in collaboration with University partners in First-Year Experience, FRST Program, Enrollment Management, and Student Affairs
  • Collaborates with leaders in Student Transition, Access, and Retention Programs (STAR) and other areas to implement strategies that integrate, promote, and implement high-impact practices, student success initiatives, student employment, and other co-curricular activities that benefit the experience and retention of EOF participants
  • Administers and supervises the planning and coordination of the EOF-AC student success coaching program, coordinates the review of the academic progress of program participants, and ensures students in academic jeopardy are advised and referred to mandatory support services
  • Coordinates the Financial Aid outreach for EOF-AC participants, including, but not limited to, the completion of FAFSA, HESAA documentation, NJFAMS login, verification, and other requirements related to scholarships, loans, payment plans, grants, and successful progress towards graduation guidelines
  • Coordinates annual reporting, management of student rosters, and other sensitive documents in compliance with state regulations for the AC EOF Program
  • Monitors student outcomes and academic progress through assessments, progress reports, alert systems, and other technologies/systems (e.g., EAB Navigate, Anthology) and uses data to lead program planning meetings with academic and student support departments
  • Participates in internal and external professional development and training (e.g., budget, technology, associations, campus committees, etc.)
  • Expands partnerships between the Atlantic City community, Goals Gear Up, Dual Enrollment, Admissions, Residential Life, Financial Aid, and Community Engagement and Service-Learning to support retention and enrollment goals
  • Manages a caseload of students by providing proactive and holistic coaching to assigned cohorts
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of the EOF Program, the Assistant Vice President for Student Transitions, Access, and Retention, and the Vice President for Student Affairs

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling, higher education, social work, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time, professional experience in higher education
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with low SES/Pell Eligible and/or educationally underserved students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience developing, administering, and monitoring a program budget
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff
  • Demonstrated experience with assessment and data management software
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse student communities (e.g., racially diverse, LGBTQ+, first-generation, non-traditional, military-affiliated)
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with campus partners (e.g., Faculty, Enrollment Management, Academic Advising, Tutoring, Career Education, and Financial Aid)
  • Demonstrated understanding of FAFSA and/or HESAA
