Brief Job Overview/Summary:
The School of Behavioral and Social Sciences invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in the Social Work Program, starting January 15, 2025. The position requires a Ph.D. in Social Work or D.S.W.; if ABD, candidate will be hired at an Instructor level and the degree must be completed by September 1, 2025. Minimum of two years post-MSW practice is required. Excellent teaching at the college level in social work or a related field is expected along with a focused research agenda and service to the program, community, and profession. Candidates should be able to teach across the curriculum including social work practice, research, and social welfare policy areas. Expectation is to teach in the MSW Program at the Atlantic City Campus. MSW courses are currently offered on weekday evenings and Saturdays. The candidate should be prepared to teach these courses based on the program schedule. Candidates are expected to advise students regarding their educational and career goals. Experience with marginalized, oppressed, and/or vulnerable populations is required. Experience with anti-racist pedagogy and social justice framework in an academic setting is preferred.
