Brief Job Overview/Summary

Stockton University seeks applicants for two full-time tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Successful candidates for these positions will join current faculty members with diverse professional backgrounds and work collaboratively in a systems-oriented, entry level curriculum. The DPT program enjoys dedicated multipurpose lab classrooms and a multidisciplinary simulation suite in the state-of-the-art John F. Scarpa Health Sciences Center. Stockton’s School of Health Sciences offers many graduate and undergraduate degrees in the health-related professions. Stockton has received national recognition for its distinctive academic programs and interdisciplinary approach to learning. The diverse faculty and student body at Stockton combine a spirit of innovation with a sense of tradition for academic excellence.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Offer courses in Physical Therapy and the General Studies curriculum
  • Serve as preceptor to students
  • Participate in scholarship and/or creative activities as appropriate to the discipline
  • Provide service to the University, community and the profession
  • Perform other duties as designated by the Dean and/or the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • Support Stockton University’s commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in physical therapy or health-related field
  • Candidates must be a NJ licensed Physical Therapist or be eligible for physical therapy license in NJ
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Physical therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned academic doctorate (Ph.D, Ed.D, or equivalent) in physical therapy or a health-related field
  • Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred
  • Contemporary expertise in Musculoskeletal content
  • Expertise in additional areas of practice will be considered: kinesiology, neuromuscular PT, prosthetics / orthotics
  • A track record of scholarly productivity or demonstrated potential for success in peer-reviewed publications
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as a member of a team with students, faculty, staff, administrators and/or colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability/experience setting, communicating, and completing established priorities
