Brief Job Overview/Summary

The EOF program is designed to meet the educational and financial needs of students who are capable and motivated but lack adequate preparation and/or the financial means for college. Students admitted into Stockton University as EOF freshmen must successfully complete the EOF Summer Academy before they can enroll at the university. Stockton University houses two EOF programs: the Galloway EOF Program and the Atlantic City EOF Program. The EOF Summer Academy runs from June 30th through August 1st simultaneously on both the Galloway campus and the Atlantic City campus and is designed to develop the skills, character, and discipline needed for success at Stockton. This rigorous five-week program helps students develop their foundation in college-level reading, writing, and mathematics. Additionally, students are equipped with knowledge, information, and resources to help them transition academically and socially to Stockton University.

The Residential Coordinator Position is available within both campus programs. This is a stipend position, not hourly, and hours/responsibilities may fluctuate based on the needs of the program. Residential Coordinators will earn a stipend of $5,500 and will receive housing and meals. The preferred campus program/location for the applicant is considered but not guaranteed. Residential Coordinators will not hold additional employment or take classes (including online) without the approval of the Executive Director/Director.

The Residential Coordinator is an eight-week mandatory live-on position (June 12th-August 3rd).

The Residential Coordinators will earn a stipend of $6,500, per the University payroll calendar. Additionally, the chosen candidate will receive an on-campus apartment from June 12th to August 4th and meals during training and when students are on campus.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate housing functions of the academy, such as room assignments, and logistics for move-ins and move-outs; liaise with residential life staff as needed
  • Document check-in and check-out procedures
  • Create and participate in a 24-hour EOF Staff on-call duty schedule when students are on campus. Utilize campus resources and existing on-call structure when appropriate
  • Facilitate roommate mediation as needed
  • Follow EOF and University reporting structure to document any medical, behavioral, psychological, or other student issues
  • Serve as a backup to the Transportation Coordinator to assist with transporting students in need of medical attention to on-campus medical resources (vaccinations) or Urgent Care/ER; remain with the student until a parent/guardian arrives or the student can be transported back to campus. Document transports and student illness through CARES referrals and to immediate supervisors
  • Maintain regular communication with the Academic Coordinator, instructional assistants, and EOF staff
  • Maintain a high level of visibility by interacting and developing relationships with scholars when possible
  • Promote a strong sense of belonging among scholars
  • Educate students on program and institutional policies; uphold them
  • Connect students with outside offices and departments, such as Counseling Services, Academic Advising, etc.
  • Assist with the coordination of trips and activities, including but not limited to: social events, service learning, etc. Provide supervision as needed
  • Collaborate with the Academic Coordinator to plan and facilitate weekend activities/programs for students while they are on campus.
  • Assist with planning the end-of-program banquet, closing ceremony, and awards.
  • Receive attendance reports from Academic Coordinators and Instructional Assistants (IA) and ensure all scholars are at their scheduled locations
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends when students are on campus
  • Attend Coordinator training; assist in facilitating IA training
  • Plan and facilitate (lead) daily night meetings for scholars
  • Work with Academic Coordinators to lead regular staff meetings
  • Coordinate ordering of supplies and food with EOF staff
  • Execute other duties as assigned by EOF professional staff

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing/able to transport students and other staff members in a Stockton University Vehicle
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, technological, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must understand the mission and goals of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program
  • Experience advising, mentoring, coaching, or teaching at-risk students
  • Interested in working in higher education/student affairs or school counseling
